Typology of the private placement market in France

Over the last couple of years, the number of private placement issuances has increased even though public information on their nature and characteristics has been scarce.

The French Bond Association (FBA) has undertaken the task of putting together a classification of private placement issuances, jointly with non-exhaustive information on issuers and amounts. This document regroups all stakeholders, including bookrunners and legal advisers. It brings light to this segment of the market without attempting to be comprehensive, and does not look to include every details related to a specific issuance.

The FBA cannot be held accountable for the content of this publication, which is meant to be strictly indicative, within the framework that has been stated above.

Furthermore, the FBA invites issuers to follow the best practices regarding the computation of coupons and nominal values which are described in “Current Standards on Fixed Income” on the FBA website.
